Addressing Opposition
Here's how to respond thoughtfully to common concerns and questions
"This will hurt online sellers who are also small businesses"
We support small sellers wherever they are, but this season we're prioritizing face-to-face community commerce and those most vulnerable. Small online sellers can participate by directing customers to local partners or pop-up locations.
"Not everyone can afford to shop local"
Freedom Christmas is about spending less overall, not spending more at boutiques. Thrift stores, craft exchanges, and homemade gifts are encouraged. The saved money goes to those who need it most.
"This is anti-technology"
This is pro-community. We use technology to organize this movement. We're questioning who benefits from our economic choices, not technology itself.
